CHARLES H. RITTGERS: Our firm concentrates in the area of personal injury.

JASON A. SHOWEN: When someone's been injured, they realize that their life may be altered. And it's our job to give them an understanding of what can and can't be done for them. We'd much rather see somebody be healthy than necessarily get a settlement. But if that injury is significant, a result of somebody else's negligence or otherwise, really your only recourse is money.

CHARLES H. RITTGERS: What we look for when a potential client comes in is whether or not, one, there's liability, meaning someone's at fault; number two, whether the client has a serious injury that requires substantial compensation; and three, whether there is sufficient insurance.

In serious injury cases, we use a day in the life videos, which actually you can show to the jury how this person lives during one day of their life. And it can be very graphic. And it brings home to the jury what it means to have to shuffle between a wheelchair and the toilet seat or what it means to try to put on your socks when you can't bend your back or what it means for the spouse to help the injured individual get from one location to another.

JASON A. SHOWEN: You can be injured in a variety of ways. You can be injured physically. You can be injured emotionally. You can be injured in the community as to your reputation amongst others.

CHARLES H. RITTGERS: Not only are we representing the individual who's been injured or killed, really represent the family because it affects everyone.
