CHARLIES H. RITTGERS: When you have a child who is a victim of serious injuries, it is the parent who brings the complaint on behalf of the child.

RENEE L. CRIST: I think with every case is that I try to think about what is in the best interest of the children.

JASON A. SHOWEN: I've got kids. And injuries to children hits home. I don't know of any other mechanism that will in any way right the wrong in some fashion if there is a wrong other than seeking money damages as a result of somebody's negligence towards you.

CHARLES H. RITTGERS: Most child injuries that we have dealt with involve such things as dog bites.

Oftentimes, children are injured at daycare facilities. The very first big personal injury cases I handled as a young lawyer was where a six-year-old child was picked up by her head by a huge German shepherd. And it's through no fault of theirs. It's just because of negligent supervision or there being dangerous product around that can harm that child.
